Monster project

Process: I rolled out a ball, then hollowed it out and attached wings and feathers and eyes and teeth. Then I glazed it purple and blue and red on the teeth, and glazed over that with clear glaze.

What I liked: I liked how the shape and colors turned out, I think they are very accurate to the kids drawings.

What I would do different: I could have made it a little bit bigger.

Collaboration piece

Process: I rolled out a ball, carved out the inside and squished some clay up to make the vase shape. Then I carved triangles and circles and other shapes into it, and glazed it with mid-fire glazes in an ombre design from black at the bottom to blue at the top.

I used mid-fire glazes so this piece hasnt been fired.

What I would do different:

Process: I rolled out a slab then used a slump mold to make the shape of the bowl. I added a rim, then I carved out the flowers on the outside of the bowl. I then glazed it with mid-fire glazes.

What I liked: I really liked the design of the flowers and how they looked with the mid-fire glazes.

What I would do different: I would use more chunky plum so the glaze would look more pink, I don't like how white it looks

Process: I rolled out a slab, then used a slump mold to made the circular shape. Then I widened out the bottom, and rolled a slab to make a bottom. Then I used a thin roll of clay to add a foot, and made some indents to put some flowers in, and added a handle.

What I liked: I really liked the shape of the mug and the handle. I alos really like the indents with the flowers in them.

What I would do different: I wouldnt add water to the inside then let it sit because that is what caused it to break. I would also make it a little thicker.

Process: I rolled out a slab, then cut out squares. I carved numbers into the squares, added feet to the tiles, then found misfire glaze combinations to do on each tile.

What I liked: I really like how lots of the different combinations turned out. There are a few I really liked and that I was able to use for other pieces.

What I would do different: I would make more tiles next time, and I would try my own combinations as I mostly used ones from Pinterest.

Process: I rolled out a slab then used a slump mold to make the shape of the mug. I added a bottom, and a foot and handle. I then made little indents and added flowers then used mid-fire glazes.

What I liked: I liked how big the mug is and I like the 3-D flowers.

What I would do different: I would do different colors next time since these art my favorite.

Process: I used two bowls to make slump molds then squished them together. I carved out a circle for the lid, then hand built the unicorn. I then used mid-fire glazes for all of it.

What I liked: I loved the glaze combination of the bowl and the way the unicorn was built

What I would do different: I would make the unicorn more multicolored to match the bowl
